![]() ![]() ![]() But they end up being a bit too heavy for the connection they have. I guess if you have other wing zero kits you know how friggin huge the wings are. I worked very patiently to get the panels lines just right and it looks great and was really fun to get done. I think Wing Zero has a sharp leg design. When you bend the knee it causes movements of other parts, and it's very satisfying to watch. The legs though are perfectly designed and very anatomically accurate. Like I said it felt needlessly complicated. All in all having some wires and a plug would have worked a lot better. Then attach those to screws on the battery pack. In the kit they make you put in an LED then run wires up into the head and screw them down to connections with the LED. With the head they should have just had an LED with wires already connected to it. I got the torso to work but not the head. For the hips they use metal pieces I felt the same should have been done with the shoulder/torso area as it is a major area of movement and will get some wear and tear to it.Īlso the electrical system seemed purposefully more complicated than it needed to be. It is really hard to describe the actual formation of the upper torso as it involves a lot of tiny tiny parts. Nevertheless I felt like the design was kind of needlessly complicated, and feels a bit flimsy. I actually ended up having to lube mine up with some old valve grease I used to use on my tuba. I'm not talking just a bit of force, I'm saying it felt like I was going to break it just to get it in there. My biggest complain is the arm and torso connection. I will say though that Perfect is not an apt description for it. I will say I had a blast working on the kit, but I do like getting into all those details to really make the kit work. I paneled every detail onto it including the inside skeleton. ![]() Mostly that there are time to use a hobby knife to cut along panel lines which makes them pop a whole lot better. I also panel lined everything and came up with a few new techniques along the way. Whew! What a build! It took me somewhere around 40 hours to finish the whole thing.
